Thoughts: If 2012 was the year of Snow White, it looks like 2013 will be the year of Oz. In March we will get Oz: The Great and Powerful from director Sam Raimi and sometime in 2013 the animated tale Dorothy of Oz will be released. Judging by the trailer, I don’t think Raimi is sweating the competition. Some gaudily awful computer animation and a voice cast that reads like a who’s who of people I don’t want to see in a live-action film puts this one low on my 2013 To See list. Oz continues to fascinate people all these years after the original stories came out so I hate to shake a stick at another entry into the Oz phenomenon…but if this trailer is any indication on the quality we all might be clicking our heels to get out of the theater.
