The Silver Bullet ~ “Rock of Ages” Trailer

by Joe Silver Bullet - Trailer Park • Tags: Ackerman, Ages, Baldwin, Brand, Cinema, Cruise, Hough, Jones, Line, logo, Malin, New, Rock, Shankman, Warner Brothers, Zeta

Synopsis: Set in 1987 Los Angeles, Drew and Sherrie are two young people chasing their dreams in the big city. When they meet, it’s love at first sight, though their romance will face a series of challenges.

Release Date: June 15, 2012

Thoughts:  Based on the Broadway musical, Rock of Ages debuts its newest trailer that gives the viewer more plot details and lets us hear the stars belt out a few notes (some with the obvious help of AutoTune).  The actual singers in the movie sound like a good fit and stars like Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin appear to be able to carry a tune…but how far they can carry it is yet to be determined.  The preview plays up the nostalgia of the hair-band era with aplomb and it generates the right amount of interest to get the audience to plunk down their summer cash.  Director Adam Shankman did a solid job with Hairspray a few summers ago and he looks to have another crowd-pleasing winner on his hands.
