The Silver Bullet ~ Wreck-It Ralph ~ Trailer 2

by Joe Silver Bullet - Trailer Park • Tags: 2012, Adam Carolla, Alan Tudyk, Dennis Haysbert, Ed O’Neill, Edie McClurg, Gerald C Rivers, Horatio Sanz, Jack McBrayer, Jane Lynch, John C. Reilly, Kyle Hebert, logo, Mindy Kaling, Rachael Harris, Reuben Langdon, Rich Moore, Roger Craig Smith, Sarah Silverman, Stefanie Scott, Trailer, Walt Disney Studios, Wreck-It Ralph

Synopsis: A video game villain wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives.

Release Date:  November 2, 2012

Thoughts: Even though Wreck-It Ralph may be coming out of Walt Disney Studios without the PIXAR logo stamped on it, I’m quite excited for this colorful looking 3D animated film.  As a proud child of the 80’s, I find a lot to like in this second trailer that shows more of the storyline than the first trailer and a nice chunk of jokes that hit me right at my youthful funny bone.  From the spot-on graphics to some familiar arcade villains I get sent right to my happy spot whenever I’ve caught this preview.  I’m hoping Ralph can live up to its promise of being a nicely solid throwback for the Pac-Man lover at heart.

The Silver Bullet ~ This Must Be the Place

by Joe Silver Bullet - Trailer Park • Tags: 2012, Frances McDormand, Judd Hirsch, logo, Paolo Sorrentino, Sean Penn, Studio, The Weinstein Company, Umberto Contarello

Synopsis: Cheyenne, a retired rock star living off his royalties in Dublin, returns to New York City to find the man responsible for a humiliation suffered by his recently deceased father during WWII.

Release Date:  November 2, 2012

Thoughts: Looking like he just stepped out of the Edward Scissorhands stage show, Sean Penn continues to refuse to be pigeonholed in any kind of genre or role.  I’m not entirely sold on the film based on the preview as it looks like any number of “prodigal son” films we’ve seen before.  Penn is a good actor with good instcints…but he’s also self-indulgent at times which can rub viewers the wrong way.  With his soft lilting voice, crazy hair, and penchant for make-up, this character could get real old real fast.  Never count Penn out, though.
