Synopsis: President Lincoln’s mother is killed by a supernatural creature, which fuels his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers.
Release Date: June 22, 2012
Thoughts: I’m just about to start reading this book so it was interesting to see the trailer before I began. Based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s popular novel (released after the unexpected success of his Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) this looks to be an eccentric riff on the president I happen to share a birthday with. Not sure what Honest Abe would think about all this vampire hoopla but I’ve a feeling it would produce a nice chuckle. Director Timur Bekmambetov has given us some highly stylized features so I’m expecting a finished product with a nice visual edge, copious amounts of violence, and a good use of the 3D effects. For those historical purists, you can skip this and wait for Steven Spielberg’s take on Abe later in December.
I thought you were on vacation? Happy rest of the week. Mom
I am on vacation…but I still love my movie previews 🙂
