About The MN Movie Man
Hi, I’m Joe Botten, and I’ve been writing The MN Movie Man since 2012. No film snobbery allowed here, just honest, spoiler-free opinions on the good, the bad, and the so-bad-they’re-good.
Love movies as much as I do? You’re in the right place!

About Joe
I’m a Twin Cities film critic and entertainment writer, and a movie fan before anything else. Here you’ll find reviews of new releases in theaters and on streaming, festival premieres, and 4K and Blu-ray releases from labels like Arrow Video and MVD.
I also write for Loud and Clear Reviews, a Rotten Tomatoes approved site, and I cover film festivals including TIFF, where I write curtain raisers and reviews. I’ve moderated film Q&As, and I’m a member of the MNFCA, OFTA and IFCA.
And now, the stage too. Off Screen, On Stage is my new home for local theater reviews, with the same honest approach I bring to the movies.
