Paul Thomas Anderson's sprawling comedy One Battle After Another dominated the 2026 BAFTAs, taking home four major awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. The film's sweep confirmed its status as the season's most awarded picture, building on its record-breaking 16 longlist mentions. Sean Penn added Best Supporting Actor to the film's haul, while Chloé Zhao's Hamnet took Outstanding British Film and delivered Jessie Buckley her first BAFTA for Leading Actress. Ryan Coogler's Sinners won Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Score, cementing Coogler's reputation as a director who delivers both commercially and critically.
Robert Aramayo emerged as the night's breakout star, winning both Best Leading Actor for I Swear and the EE Rising Star Award—a rare double that speaks to his sudden industry prominence. Wunmi Mosaku's Supporting Actress win for Sinners continued her impressive streak of scene-stealing performances. Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein dominated the craft categories with wins for Costume Design, Makeup & Hair, and Production Design. Sentimental Value took Best Film Not in the English Language, while Zootopia 2 won Best Animated Film and Avatar: Fire and Ash predictably claimed Best Special Visual Effects.
