Thoughts: As much as I love Disney animation, my heart longs for a resurgence of the Disney live-action films that were less about special effects and more about special stories. Sadly, the era for movies like Candleshoe, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, and Snowball Express has long since passed and movies need to come out flashy and loud or dumb and maudlin to make the cash warranted to churn them out. I’m hoping that Disney’s The Odd Life of Timothy Green may gives us a small glimpse into what a classic Disney live-action would look like today. All the elements are there…wishes, magic, etc…so my fingers are crossed that the film gives me a nostalgic feeling that is hard to come by nowadays.
