Thoughts: Truth be told, I’m not expecting too much from this Irish horror film…but I kind of want it to be better than I think it will be. After all, hospitals are already scary and hospital-set fright flicks can be kinda fun (see Halloween II) and it’s been too long since we’ve had a good creepy monster onscreen. Starring Shauna Macdonald who was so great in The Descent and its sequel, I’m interested in finding out if this will hit thr ground running or if it will be slow burn in the scream department. I’m a bit worried that this comes to us from a first time writer/director (Dennis Bartok) who has no other notable film releases on his IMDb page. Still, we all need to start somewhere and I’m crossing my fingers that Nails is sharp and not in need of a manicure.
