Synopsis:  A college lecturer flees to Paris after a scandal costs him his job. In the City of Lights, he meets a widow who might be involved in a series of murders.

Thoughts:  Kristin Scott Thomas is one of the more interesting actors working in film today.  Ethan Hawke is not.  How these two have come together in this murky looking mystery is the wonder that is independent film.  I’m sure this is a nicely refined tale of scandal and Fatal Attraction-esque obsession but it might just be too laid back for its own good.  Casting Scott Thomas as a possible femme fatale is pretty neat…but maybe best to let this one go until you can rent it/stream it.
