Thoughts: Brad Pitt’s newest film looks to be a grit and knuckles kind of story that will put its own spin on the modern mobster movie.  Third time director Andrew Dominik and Pitt have teamed before for The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and judging from the preview this is another match made in cinematic heaven.  Pitt works well with damaged characters inflicting some damage of their own and Dominik’s realistically bare-bones approach to material could work perfectly. Peppered with veteran character actors skilled at this type of assignment, Killing Them Softly looks to be impressive.
